Eateries and nosheries of Main Market, Lahore

Zulfi Burger & Shawarmas

Zulfi Burger & Shawarmas

I’ve wasted time before writing about the cheap economical snacks which ones can get at the small restaurants/hole-in-the-walls/eateries of Main Market. I’ve recently come to know that the original desi burger joint of Main Market is Zulfi Burger. It seems it was Zulfi who pioneered the drive to convert all the youth of Lahore into Burger Bachey. I’m not sure what the situation was like prior to Zulfi’s valiant efforts but one thing is for sure that the demand for burgers from the bachey of Lahore in the Main Market area has increased so much that now several rival nosheries have opened up all within 200 meters of the original Zulfi Burger. The closet competitor physically and possibly also in overall experience is Mr Burger.

Mr Burger also has a similar menu filled with burgers, sandwiches and shawarmas.  From my experience nobody in Main Market does a ‘club sandwich’ like Zulfi. Zulfi 120RS  club is filling, tasty and quite light compared to the the one available at Rizwan Burger. Mr Burger does not do good sandwichs but has a fairly decent  shawarmas. I’ve stopped going to Rizwan now because their food is way to heavy. After you eat one burger you don’t need to eat for next 2 days.
